Pinotage
Red wine grape
Pinotage is a red wine grape variety created in South Africa by crossing Pinot Noir and Cinsaut (historically called Hermitage there).
The resulting wines range from light and fruity to bold and smoky, sometimes with distinctive earthy or tar-like notes.
Pinotage remains South Africa's signature grape: a glass of pinotage from Stellenbosch.
