seder meal

Exodus commemoration dinner

A seder meal is the ceremonial dinner held on the first night (or first two nights) of Passover, the Jewish holiday commemorating liberation from slavery in Egypt.

The meal follows a prescribed order—seder means "order" in Hebrew—with ritual foods, prayers, songs, and readings from the Haggadah.

We gather at my grandmother's house every year for the seder meal.
