Passover meal
Ritual spring feast
The Passover meal is the ritual dinner eaten during the Jewish festival of Passover, commemorating the Israelites' exodus from Egypt.
Called the Seder, it follows a prescribed order of prayers, symbolic foods, and readings from the Haggadah.
The meal includes unleavened bread (matzah), bitter herbs, and other foods representing aspects of slavery and liberation: We gather each year for the Passover meal at my grandmother's house.
