Palpatine
Palpatine is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise—the scheming politician who rises to become Emperor and embodies the dark side of the Force.
Used allusively for cunning manipulators who accumulate power while appearing benign: He's giving Palpatine energy with all these backroom deals.
The name suggests hidden malevolence behind a respectable facade.
