Replicas at war
Clone Wars refers to a fictional galactic conflict in the Star Wars universe, spanning the period between the prequel films and depicted extensively in animated television series.
The wars are named for the clone army created to fight for the Galactic Republic against Separatist forces.
In broader usage, clone wars can describe any conflict involving cloned beings or, more loosely, battles between similar or derivative entities: The smartphone market has become a clone war of nearly identical designs.
