Orientals
Dated Asian term
Orientals is a dated and now offensive term for people of East Asian descent.
The word treats Asian people as exotic or foreign, reducing them to a Western perspective of "the East." It remains acceptable for objects—Oriental rugs, Oriental cuisine—but applying it to people is considered derogatory.
The museum's collection of Oriental art is fine; The Orientals who moved in next door is not.
