O'Keeffe

Skull and flower

Georgia O'Keeffe (1887–1986) was an American artist known for large-scale paintings of flowers, desert landscapes, and animal bones.

Her close-up floral works invited both botanical admiration and sexual interpretation—she dismissed the latter.

O'Keeffe spent her later decades in New Mexico, whose stark terrain became synonymous with her name: very O'Keeffe, an O'Keeffe sky.
