Neverwhere

London's magical underworld

Neverwhere is an imaginary place that doesn't exist or can't be reached—a realm of the impossible or forgotten.

The word combines "never" and "where" to suggest a location defined by its nonexistence: She searched for answers in the neverwhere of childhood memory.

The term gained wider currency from Neil Gaiman's 1996 novel about a hidden London beneath the streets.
