The Nevada Test Site is a former United States nuclear weapons testing facility in the desert northwest of Las Vegas.
Between 1951 and 1992, nearly a thousand nuclear devices were detonated there, both above and below ground.
The site, now called the Nevada National Security Site, remains restricted government land used for security research and training.
