Tsar Bomba
Largest nuclear detonation
Tsar Bomba was a Soviet hydrogen bomb detonated in 1961, the most powerful nuclear weapon ever tested.
At approximately 50 megatons, it produced a blast over 1,500 times more powerful than the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined.
The name means "King of Bombs" in Russian.
The test demonstrated Soviet nuclear capability during the Cold War, though the weapon was too large for practical military use.
