Carson City

Silver State seat

Carson City is the capital of Nevada, a small city in the western part of the state near Lake Tahoe.

Named for the frontiersman Kit Carson, it served as a hub during the Comstock Lode silver rush and housed a U.S. mint from 1870 to 1893—coins marked "CC" remain collectible.
