Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson is an American-Australian actor and filmmaker who rose to fame in action films like *Mad Max* and *Lethal Weapon* before directing critically acclaimed works including *Braveheart* and *The Passion of the Christ*.
His name became associated with controversy after a 2006 antisemitic tirade during a drunk-driving arrest, making him a cautionary example of celebrity self-destruction: He went full Mel Gibson on the cops.
