Lord Nelson
One-armed admiral
Lord Nelson refers to Horatio Nelson, the British naval commander who became a national hero for his victories during the Napoleonic Wars, particularly at Trafalgar in 1805, where he died in battle.
His name evokes naval supremacy and heroic sacrifice.
In British pubs, a Lord Nelson is rhyming slang for a half-nelson wrestling hold, or sometimes for rum (Nelson's blood).
