Lee Harvey Oswald
Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin of President John F.
Kennedy, shot in Dallas on November 22, 1963.
Oswald was himself killed two days later by Jack Ruby while in police custody—the first nationally televised murder.
His name has become shorthand for lone gunmen and assassination: Every president worries about his own Lee Harvey Oswald.
