Lake Winnipeg
Prairie province giant
Lake Winnipeg is a large freshwater lake in Manitoba, Canada—the eleventh-largest in the world by surface area.
It drains northward into Hudson Bay via the Nelson River.
The lake is central to Manitoba's geography and commercial fishing industry: We spent summers at a cabin on Lake Winnipeg.
