LP records
Turntable's spinning platters
LP records are vinyl phonograph discs played at 33⅓ revolutions per minute, distinguished from earlier 78 rpm records by their slower speed and longer playing time—typically 20-25 minutes per side.
The LP (long-playing) format dominated recorded music from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Though largely replaced by digital formats, LPs have seen revival among collectors and audiophiles: I found some great LP records at the estate sale.
