Renaissance music
Madrigals and motets
Renaissance music is the musical tradition of Europe from approximately 1400 to 1600, spanning from Dufay to Monteverdi.
It features complex vocal polyphony, the development of the madrigal and motet, and innovations in notation and instrumental music.
Renaissance music courses often begin with the Franco-Flemish school. (Lowercase renaissance music is the more common spelling.)
