Jehoshaphat

Judean monarch, ancient

Jehoshaphat was a king of Judah in the Hebrew Bible, but the name survives mainly in the exclamation Jumping Jehoshaphat! —a mild oath expressing surprise or amazement.

The phrase became popular in 19th-century America as a way to invoke a biblical name without blasphemy, substituting for "Jesus" while preserving the emphatic J-sound.
