IV drip
Bedside fluid delivery
An IV drip is a system for delivering fluids, medications, or nutrients directly into a patient's bloodstream through a needle or catheter inserted into a vein.
The liquid drips slowly from a suspended bag through tubing at a controlled rate: The nurse adjusted the IV drip.
In casual speech, often shortened to just "drip" or "IV."
