Holyoke
Massachusetts mill city
Holyoke is a city in western Massachusetts, situated on the Connecticut River.
It was planned as an industrial center in the mid-nineteenth century, becoming a major paper manufacturing hub.
The name also appears in Mount Holyoke College, a prestigious women's college in nearby South Hadley.
