Helldivers
Democracy-spreading shock troops
Helldivers is a cooperative third-person shooter video game where players are elite soldiers fighting to spread "managed democracy" across the galaxy.
The game is known for its satirical take on militaristic propaganda, friendly fire chaos, and punishing difficulty.
Players drop from orbit onto hostile planets: We lost three Helldivers to our own airstrikes.
The 2024 sequel became a cultural phenomenon for its blend of dark humor and frantic teamwork.
