Callouts are elements designed to draw attention.
In design and publishing, a callout is text or a graphic that highlights or labels part of an image: The diagram includes callouts identifying each component.
In workplace contexts, a callout is a public criticism or confrontation: Her callout of the CEO's behavior went viral.
A callout can also be a summons to duty, especially for emergency workers: The fire department had three callouts last night.
