Garry Kasparov

Garry Kasparov is a Russian chess grandmaster, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in history.

He became world champion in 1985 at age 22 and held the title until 2000.

After retiring from competitive chess in 2005, he became a political activist and outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin's government.
