Friday prayer
Weekly mosque gathering
Friday prayer is the weekly congregational worship service held at midday on Fridays in Islam, replacing the regular noon prayer.
Muslims gather at mosques to hear a sermon and pray together.
Attendance is obligatory for adult men in most Islamic traditions: The streets empty out for Friday prayer.
