European-Americans

Caucasians from overseas

European-Americans are Americans of European descent—the demographic category encompassing people whose ancestors came from Europe.

The term parallels African-Americans, Asian-Americans, and other hyphenated identities, though white Americans less commonly identify this way: The study compared health outcomes among European-Americans and Latino-Americans.

It appears most often in academic, demographic, or policy contexts rather than everyday speech.
