Eastern Hemisphere
Prime Meridian's east
The Eastern Hemisphere is the half of Earth that lies east of the Prime Meridian, encompassing Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
It's the counterpart to the Western Hemisphere, which contains the Americas.
The division is conventional rather than natural—unlike the equator, the Prime Meridian was chosen arbitrarily.
Most of the world's population lives in the Eastern Hemisphere.
