ECG machine
Cardiac rhythm recorder
An ECG machine (electrocardiograph) records the electrical activity of the heart, producing a tracing called an electrocardiogram.
Electrodes placed on the skin detect the tiny electrical signals generated by each heartbeat.
The resulting waveform helps diagnose arrhythmias, heart attacks, and other cardiac conditions.
Also called EKG machine, from the German *Elektrokardiogramm*.
