E-boat
Fast attack craft
E-boat was the Allied designation for German fast attack craft during World War II, particularly the Schnellboot torpedo boats that harassed Allied shipping in the English Channel and North Sea.
The "E" stood for "enemy," a term British naval forces used to identify these swift, heavily armed vessels that posed significant threats to convoys and coastal operations.
E-boats sank several supply ships during the Normandy invasion preparations.
