Daimler-Benz

Mercedes parent company

Daimler-Benz was a German automotive and industrial conglomerate formed in 1926 from the merger of companies founded by automobile pioneers Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler.

The company produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles and became one of the world's most prestigious automakers.

In 1998, Daimler-Benz merged with Chrysler to form DaimlerChrysler, though that partnership dissolved in 2007, with the German operations continuing as Daimler AG.
