Communist era
Iron Curtain times
The Communist era refers to the period when Communist parties held power in various countries, most prominently the Soviet Union (1917–1991) and Eastern Bloc nations.
The phrase typically describes this historical period rather than Communist ideology itself: buildings from the Communist era, Communist-era apartments.
It often carries connotations of austerity, state control, and now-vanished political systems.
