Chattahoochee

Atlanta's main river

Chattahoochee is a river flowing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia southwest to the Florida-Alabama border, forming much of the Georgia-Alabama boundary.

The name comes from a Muskogee word meaning "painted rock." The river gained cultural recognition through Alan Jackson's 1993 country song celebrating summer recreation: Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee.
