Buffalo Soldier

Reggae cavalry tribute

A Buffalo Soldier was a Black American soldier serving in segregated U.S.

Army units, particularly the cavalry regiments formed after the Civil War to patrol the Western frontier.

The name reportedly came from Native Americans, possibly referencing the soldiers' hair or their fierce fighting spirit.

The term gained wider recognition through Bob Marley's 1983 song celebrating their legacy: Buffalo Soldier, dreadlock Rasta.
