rebel music
Anthems of resistance
Rebel music is music that challenges authority, protests injustice, or expresses resistance to dominant power structures.
The term is particularly associated with reggae—Bob Marley used it as an album and song title—but applies broadly to punk, hip-hop, folk protest songs, and other genres that carry political or countercultural messages: Reggae has always been rebel music at its core.
