BlackBerry
Canadian smartphone pioneer
BlackBerry was a brand of smartphone popular in the early 2000s, known for its physical keyboard and secure email capabilities.
The devices were ubiquitous among business professionals and politicians before touchscreen phones displaced them: She was glued to her BlackBerry.
The company pivoted to software after discontinuing the phones. (Lowercase blackberry is the fruit.)
