Aisin Gioro

Aisin Gioro was the ruling clan of the Qing dynasty, China's last imperial dynasty (1644–1912).

The name is Manchu, meaning "golden clan." Puyi, the last emperor, bore this surname.

After the dynasty's fall, descendants scattered across China and beyond, some adopting Chinese surnames to avoid persecution: Several Aisin Gioro descendants still live in Beijing.
