AWD
Full traction system
AWD stands for all-wheel drive, a vehicle drivetrain system that powers all four wheels simultaneously.
Unlike four-wheel drive (4WD), which is typically engaged manually for off-road conditions, AWD operates continuously and automatically adjusts power distribution: The car comes standard with AWD.
Marketing materials and vehicle specifications use AWD as shorthand: AWD available on all trim levels. (Lowercase awd is a dialect spelling of old.)
