zip-line

Aerial cable descent

A zip-line is a cable strung between two points at different heights, along which a person rides suspended by a pulley or harness.

Originally used for transporting cargo across gorges or rivers, zip-lines are now common at adventure parks and outdoor recreation areas: We rode the zip-line over the canyon.
