fine cut
Narrow precise strips
Fine cut describes tobacco shredded into thin strands for rolling cigarettes, as opposed to coarser cuts used for pipes.
The term also appears in film and video editing, where a fine cut is a late-stage version of the edit, polished and nearly complete: We're past rough cut—this is the fine cut before final approval.
