streaming release
Online debut distribution
A streaming release is the debut of a film, series, album, or other media directly on a streaming platform rather than through traditional channels like theaters or physical media.
The term distinguishes content that premieres on services like Netflix or Spotify from theatrical releases or physical album drops: The studio opted for a streaming release instead of a limited theatrical run.
