word-hoard

One's linguistic stockpile

A word-hoard is a person's vocabulary or store of words, especially one that is rich or extensive.

The term comes from Old English poetry, where it described the treasure-trove of language a skilled speaker or poet could draw upon: She has an impressive word-hoard for someone so young.

The compound retains a literary, slightly archaic flavor.
