war banner
Army's rallying symbol
A war banner is a flag or standard carried into battle, displaying symbols that identify a military unit, nation, or leader.
Historically, banners served practical purposes—rallying troops and signaling positions amid combat chaos.
The term extends to any symbol used to unite people under a cause: They marched under the war banner of reform.
