See-through observation panel
A viewing window is any transparent panel designed to let you see through to something otherwise enclosed or inaccessible.
It might be the glass in an oven door, the aperture in an envelope showing the address beneath, or a display area in software showing part of a larger document.
The term emphasizes that the window exists for observation rather than passage: The camera has a small viewing window on the back.
