videodisk

Shiny movie carrier

A videodisk is a flat circular storage medium designed to hold video content for playback on a television or monitor.

Popular in the 1980s and early 1990s before DVDs emerged, videodisks came in formats like LaserDisc, which used optical technology to store films and other video programming.

The term is sometimes spelled as two words or with a "c" (videodisc).

We still have our old videodisk player in the basement.
