victimology
Crime target studies
Victimology is the study of crime victims—their psychological responses, their relationships to offenders, and their treatment by the justice system.
In criminology, it examines patterns: who becomes a victim and why.
Informally, victimology often carries a dismissive edge, suggesting excessive focus on victim status or a tendency to claim victimhood: His whole worldview is just victimology.
