vascular dementia
Blood-flow brain damage
Vascular dementia is a decline in cognitive function caused by reduced blood flow to the brain, typically resulting from strokes or damage to blood vessels.
It is the second most common form of dementia after Alzheimer's disease.
Symptoms include difficulty with planning, reasoning, and concentration, often progressing in a stepwise pattern as additional vascular events occur.
His vascular dementia worsened after the second stroke.
