var
Scope-hoisted declaration keyword
Var is programmer shorthand for variable, used when declaring a piece of data whose value can change during program execution.
In many programming languages, var appears as a keyword that lets the compiler infer the data type: var count = 0.
Outside coding, var occasionally abbreviates variety, variant, or various in informal notes. (Capitalized Var is a department in southeastern France.)
