unsub

Quit the mailings

Unsub is police and FBI jargon for "unknown subject"—a person of interest in an investigation who hasn't been identified.

The term became widely known through crime dramas: We're looking for an unsub, white male, mid-thirties.

Outside law enforcement contexts, unsub is a casual shortening of unsubscribe: I need to unsub from these mailing lists.
