undercooking
Not done yet
Undercooking is cooking food insufficiently—leaving it raw or partially raw inside when it should be cooked through.
The term applies especially to meat, poultry, and eggs, where undercooking poses health risks: Undercooking chicken can lead to salmonella poisoning.
Some foods are intentionally undercooked for texture or taste, as with rare steak.
