ultramicroscopic
Beyond microscope visibility
Ultramicroscopic describes things too small to be seen with an ordinary optical microscope—visible only with electron microscopes or similar instruments.
The term applies to viruses, certain particles, and subcellular structures: ultramicroscopic organisms, ultramicroscopic defects in the material.
Sometimes used loosely to mean extremely tiny.
