trumpet vine

Hummingbird-attracting climber

Trumpet vine is a vigorous climbing plant native to eastern North America, bearing clusters of trumpet-shaped orange or red flowers.

It clings to surfaces with aerial rootlets and can grow aggressively, sometimes becoming invasive.

Also called trumpet creeper.

The trumpet vine had completely covered the old fence by midsummer.
